Our quality promise

Consumer protection is Conrad's top priority. We attach great importance to quality, safety and environmental protection - from design to recycling.

Together with our suppliers, we rely on transparent and legally compliant information on product origin. When purchasing, we pay strict attention to compliance with eco-design regulations (2009/125/EC and EPPG) in order to reduce environmental impact over the entire life cycle of a product and, as an importer into the EU, we check compliance with the relevant regulations in the course of regular quality controls.

We are working to increase the proportion of products in our range with demonstrable environmental benefits, and design our packaging materials and shipping to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We promote the circular economy and are committed to recycling and environmentally sound disposal.

REACH Regulation

The EU chemicals regulation REACH aims to protect human health and the environment from potential chemical-related risks.

Conrad is aware of the obligations arising from this regulation in the EU and therefore contractually obliges all suppliers to comply with the requirements of the REACH regulation (as manufacturer or distributor).

As a distributor, Conrad itself has no obligation to register substances and preparations under the REACH Regulation. Conrad can therefore only refer to the information provided by the respective manufacturer/supplier when passing on corresponding information and cannot provide any guarantee or warranty for the correctness of this information.

Information on the REACH Regulation

The EU Chemicals Regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) EC No. 1907/2006 came into force on 1 June 2007 and replaces the previous Directive 2002/95/EC. It is directly applicable in every EU member state. The main objective of the REACH Regulation is to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment from potential chemical-related risks. This imposes certain registration and information obligations on the supply chain.

As a distributor, Conrad Electronic is obliged according to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation to pass on all relevant information on substances from the Candidate List (SVHC), if provided by the manufacturer/supplier.

RoHS Directive

The RoHS Directive restricts the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

Conrad Electronic is aware of the obligations arising from this directive in the EU. In this context, Conrad Electronic has contractually obligated all of its suppliers to also comply with the corresponding requirements (as manufacturers or distributors).

Electronic components that comply with the requirements of the RoHS Directive according to the manufacturer's specifications are marked on the Conrad procurement platform.

Conrad as a distributor refers to the information provided by the suppliers/manufacturers when labelling. As long as there is no sufficient proof on the part of the supplier, the items in question will not be labelled. Conrad does not provide any guarantee or warranty for the correctness of this information.

Information on the RoHS Directive

The RoHS Directive (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipments) refers to the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

In the 2011/65/EU version, it has been in existence since 28 June 2011. With the publication of the Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863, the list of substances subject to restrictions was extended once again. It is to be applied from 22 July 2019.
