Conrad enters the world of sports sponsorship
Where precision meets power.
Conrad will be the official timing and electronics partner of the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup from the 2025/26 season onwards. We take our role as technology partner seriously and support the organisers at a total of ten venues in nine European countries with a wide range of technical products. Olle Dahlin, President of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), said of the cooperation:
"In Conrad, we have gained a partner who not only has extensive expertise in these areas, but also shares our values of innovation and continuous development. We look forward to working together to further strengthen the sport of biathlon for athletes and fans alike and to provide new impetus."
Why biathlon?
But professional technology isn't the only absolute must at World Cup events. There is another parallel between Conrad and biathlon:
"At Conrad, we believe in the power that comes when people and technology work together perfectly. This applies on the cross-country ski trail and at the shooting range, as well as in the professional procurement of technical equipment. The Conrad brand and the sport of biathlon are a perfect match," summarises our CEO Ralf Bühler.
Technical precision is not only embedded in the DNA of every biathlete, but also at Conrad. For this reason, we are not only a technology partner, but also a timing partner, providing the necessary technical products for timekeeping.
The Loop One Festival in Munich marks the start of the collaboration.
The biathlon community celebrated its successful start to the season in mid-October with the premiere of the Loop One Festival in Munich's Olympic Park.
A total of 65,000 enthusiastic fans were treated to an unusual sight: biathlon stars on roller skis in an urban setting completely without snow. A mix of action and entertainment that also thrilled our CEO Ralf Bühler: "Who would have thought that biathlon was possible without snow? This bold and innovative project shows that the world is changing rapidly and it is up to us to break new ground and actively shape this change."
