Conrad Electronic – A Great Place to Work!
According to a recent study carried out by Germany’s Federal Employment Agency, about half of the job vacancies for skilled labour didn’t get filled in Q1 and Q2 2022. A number almost twice as high as ten years ago. And it looks like it still keeps rising. Means, these days, companies need to offer a lot to attract and retain talent and highly skilled staff members. And that’s how it should be. Because we at Conrad know that sustainable success is rooted in the commitment and happiness of well-trained employees. As a family business, promoting a workplace culture that enables workers and creates a sense of community is in our DNA. The fact that the renowned Great Place to Work Institute thinks so, too, and, as a result, we now hold a certificate as an employer worth working for is something we are really proud of. Because the Great Place to Work Institute is a globally recognised organisation when it comes to assessing workplace culture, employee experience and management style.
The workplace culture here at our company is an integral part of success on our journey to become Europe’s leading sourcing platform for technical supplies. Because an effective work environment based on trust doesn’t just keep everyone motivated and engaged. It also promotes reliability and communication transparency which are vital for managing complex sourcing scenarios. As we are constantly evolving in this regard, we also become more attractive as an employer. We continually improve our recruiting strategies and create a framework that boosts innovation, diversity and equality – which is also a part of our extensive ESG engagement.
Besides offering family-friendly working arrangements and vocational training, we invest in continuous employee development. Equality, respect and diversity are engrained in the way we operate. Last year, and in addition to numerous employee benefits, management training and team workshops, our company has put employee recognition centre-stage. And the fact that it was fairness, trust, friendliness, teamwork and individual commitment that earned us such a high score in the global Great Place to Work survey shows that we are doing things right.
As a family business, we are proud that our employees feel they are an important part of the Conrad family. What we need to do now is using the insights gained from the survey to further increase our attractiveness as an employer – and that also for everyone already working here. This is an important aspect since an excellent workplace culture is the central core of a company. It drives innovative solutions, personal development and collective success. Moreover, it recognises and nurtures employee talent and keeps challenging us over and over again.
Yours sincerely
