Accessibility Statement
Conrad is committed to creating a digital environment that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their individual abilities or the technologies they use. We recognise that digital accessibility is a fundamental prerequisite for equal participation in society, and we are constantly working to ensure that our website is accessible to everyone.
Our commitment to accessibility
In accordance with the provisions of the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) and the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, we take a proactive approach to digital accessibility. Our aim is to provide an inclusive online experience that meets the needs of users with disabilities and takes the following principles into account:
Perceptibility: Information and user interfaces – elements must be perceivable by all users. This includes providing text alternatives for non-textual content, subtitles and audio descriptions for media, as well as a clear and high-contrast presentation of content.
Operability: The user interface, components and navigation must be operable. We prioritise keyboard operability, sufficient time for interaction and intuitive navigation.
Comprehensibility: Information and the operation of the user interface must be comprehensible. This includes clear and simple language, a predictable and consistent design, and guidance in the event of input errors.
Robustness: Content must be robust enough to be reliably interpreted by a wide range of user agents, including assistive technologies. We ensure standards-compliant implementation and compatibility with common screen readers and other assistive tools.
Measures implemented and ongoing efforts
To ensure and continuously improve the accessibility of our website, we have, amongst other things, taken the following measures and are continuing to implement them:
Compliance with WCAG 2.2: We aim to comply with the Level AA success criteria of WCAG 2.2, which are internationally recognised standards for web accessibility.
Ongoing testing: Our website is regularly tested for accessibility, using both automated tools and manual checks, as well as user testing.
Alternative text descriptions: We provide meaningful alt text for images and other non-textual content to make relevant information accessible to screen reader users.
Keyboard navigation: The entire website can be navigated entirely via the keyboard, without the need for a mouse.
High-contrast design: We ensure sufficient colour contrast between text and background to improve readability for people with visual impairments.
Structured headings and content: A logical hierarchy of headings and a clear structure of the content facilitate navigation and comprehension.
Form accessibility: Our forms are designed to be accessible, with clear labels and error messages that can be recognised by assistive technologies.
Transcripts and subtitles: Wherever possible and appropriate, we provide transcripts and/or subtitles for audio and video content.
Responsive design: Our website is designed to display optimally on a range of devices and screen sizes to ensure accessibility.
Feedback option: We provide a simple way for users to report accessibility issues or suggest improvements.
