Electronic Direct – Strengthening Our Special Procurement Section
Those times when we were operating as a technology retailer are long gone. These days, we are a B2B solutions provider. We make sure we offer the precise mix of products and procurement services you need to succeed as a business. And we do this, too, when things become challenging, namely when it comes to special procurement.
This is why we are super excited about our acquisition of Electronic Direct in early 2024, and about the more than 50 specialists who joined our company in the process, and who are now in charge of these matters. Electronic Direct are based in Putzbrunn near Munich. For over 25 years, the company has been consistently supplying non-standard active, passive and electromechanical components and system-specific modules to B2B customers. Not everyone might be familiar with these products. However, these days, being able to source parts reliably has become a mammoth task across the manufacturing, automotive, biomedical, aerospace and telecommunications sector. Because if things go wrong, this results in production downtime and delays that tend to be rather costly. Moreover, due to the highly specific nature of these parts and the required quality standards, getting them form alternative suppliers is hardly ever an option.
This is where Electronic Direct come in, taking on these challenges on behalf of their, and now also our, customers. Like us, they utilise a global supplier network and subsidiaries based in Canada, China and Hong Kong. They also bring advanced quality management, a tried-and-tested global procurement tool and a comprehensive range of services to the table. Means skilled people and software solutions that enable us to supply some of the rarest electronic components on the planet. And that without compromising on our usual quality or relying on grey market goods.
In this way, Electronic Direct take our electronic component special procurement section to the next level. This is vital since even the over 10 million products currently listed on the Conrad Sourcing Platform are not always able to cover nowadays increasing demand for non-standard supplies across the industries. The acquisition of Electronic Direct takes care of this, strengthening our B2B one-stop-shopping product range aimed at businesses of all types and sizes. Which ticks off another milestone on our journey to become Europe’s leading sourcing platform for technical supplies.
The fact that the contracts have been signed doesn’t mean we’ve got it in the bag. On the contrary, right now, we are working very hard to make the services provided by Electronic Direct a part of our procurement processes. Conrad business customers already benefit from the acquisition as our product advisors now provide the services offered by Electronic Direct. So, why not check it out?
Yours sincerely
