Description
The speed-controlled drives of the ACQ580 series, developed especially for pump applications in the water/sewage sector, have now been supplemented with an Ultra-Low Harmonic (ULH) variant. This new frequency converter enables reliable operation, even in the case of an unstable power supply, because it eliminates disturbing harmonics (harmonics) in the mains. Traditionally, the problem has been solved with harmonic harmonics with filters, multi-pulse transformers and oversized components. However, the ACQ580 does not require external filters or special equipment. "The new ABB frequency converter includes a component for reducing harmonics, including an active power supply unit and an integrated harmonic filter," says Florian Groß, Product Manager Drives at ABB Motion Germany. In contrast to a conventional frequency converter with 45 % THDI (Total Harmonic Distortion or total harmonic distortion) the Ultra-Low Harmonic Drive ACQ580 reduces the harmonic harmonics to less than 3 %.
