Special installation conditions must be taken into account when using the overvoltage protection devices BLITZDUCTORconnect in intrinsically safe circuits. According to EN 60079-11; 2007 (VDE 0170-7), a minimum distance (thread dimension) of ≥ 50 mm must be maintained between intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe signal circuits (connection parts e.g. terminals). Using the Ex i partition partition EXI, this thread measurement is maintained even when the devices are connected directly together. Particularly useful in conjunction with the DRC IRCM for condition-oriented monitoring of BCO modules.
