Description
Steam locomotive 01 202 of the association Pacific 01 202.
The express steam locomotive 01 202 is a piece of lively technical history. It was built in 1936 by the company Henschel and Sohn in Kassel for the former German State Railways. After the end of the war, the machine came to the German Federal Railways and was used primarily in southern Germany. The 01 202 from the BW (factory) Hof experienced its last operations, where it was also often seen on the wrong level.
The 01 202 then came to Switzerland on 2 October 1975. Here she was made operational again by Werner Bühlmann from Münsingen and a group of unimproved optimists in free leisure time work. Today, after more than 20 years of effort, the machine is regarded as the most beautiful ready-to-drive representative of the 01 series and presents itself in impressively well-maintained condition. Since 1991, the Pacific Association has been taking care of 01 202 all the requirements for the maintenance and operation of the locomotive.
