COIL adapter XTRA for winding testing in conjunction with Metrahit IN series
- Adapter for detecting the short circuit of inductors from 10 microH to 5 H
- The COIL Adapter XTRA, in conjunction with the following multimeters, enables the semi-automatic winding closure measurement:
- METRAHIT IN XTRA
- METRAHIT IN E-DRIVE
- Applications
- If a problem occurs on an electrical machine, it can be caused by electrical or mechanical problems. These are electrical faults in the windings or the control or electronics. Insulation resistance measurement detects insulation faults between the windings and the housing. The easiest way to identify winding connections within a winding is to compare the electrical properties of the windings of multi-phase machines with each other. With the METRAHIT IN XTRA or E-DRIVE and the COIL Adapter XTRA, this is done with a suction voltage of 1000 V, a so-called surge test. This also reliably detects errors that occur only when the operating voltage is applied.
- The test works for windings with inductors from 10 microH to 5 H, which corresponds to three-phase machines with a nominal voltage of 400 V nominal power ratings of approx. 160 VA to 80 MVA. The test procedure is for 3-phase machines semi-automatous. After connecting to the U-V-W connections, the test is carried out with a rotary switch, whereby the retentive effects can also be compensated.
- For multi-phase electric motors and generators, e.g. DIN three-phase motors, unbalance on the windings is detected immediately by comparing the measurement results and enable the evaluation of a winding connection.
- For single-phase electric motors and generators, the test is performed by comparing them with a known setpoint.
