Description
The NF-A4x20 is a highly optimized low-noise 40x20mm fan in premium quality, which falls back on trend-setting aerodynamic design measures like Flow Acceleration Channels as well as Noctua's AAO-frame system. The FLX version offers three speed settings (5000/4400/3700rpm) via the low noise adapter supplied and thus provides full flexibility between maximum flow-rate and almost noiseless operation. Its outstanding smoothness, the SSO2 reference class bearing and Noctua's proven premium quality make the NF-A4x20 a choice for the highest demands.
40x20mm format
Compared to Noctua's award-winning NF-A4x10, the NF-A4x20 has double the overall depth. This enables a higher print output and makes the NF-A4x20 the perfect choice for applications with higher air resistance.
Flow acceleration channels
The impeller of the NF-A4x20 is fitted with so-called flow acceleration channels on the suction side. The acceleration of the air flow in the critical outer regions of the fan blades reduces suction-side turbulence, WAS leads to higher efficiency and a lower noise emissions caused by turbulence.
AAO frame system
Noctuas AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimization) frames feature built-in vibration buffers as well as a stepped inlet area (Stepped Inlet Design) and an interior microstructure (Inner Surface Microstructures) that provide even better performance/noise efficiency.
Stepped inlet design
The stepped inlet area of the Stepped Inlet Design creates more turbulence in the intake. Thus the transition from laminar to turbulent flow is simplified, which adheres better to the frame (Flow Attachment) and thus increases the suction capacity of the fan especially in restricted suction area.
Inner Surface Microstructures
The microstructure inside the frame (Inner Surface Microstructures) creates an boundary layer through which the tips of the fan blades move. This reduces the current release from the suction side of the blade tips, WAS leads to a significant reduction in the rotating tone as well as an increase in the pressure and air flow efficiency.
Integrated anti-vibration pads
The anti-vibration pads manufactured from extra-soft silicone reduce the transmission of minimum vibrations and are at the same time compatible with all standard screws as well as commercially available mounting systems or fan clamps used with CPU-coolers.
Smooth commutation drive 2
The latest, further developed version of Noctua's SCD drive system guarantees excellent smooth running thanks to the elimination of torque fluctuations and switching noise. This makes the fan extremely quiet even from the nearest area.
SSO2 bearing system
The NF-A4x20 is equipped with the further optimized second generation of Noctua's proven SSO bearing system. With SSO2, the rear magnet sits closer to the fan axle and thus causes an even better stabilization, WAS leads to a further improved precision and durability.
3 speed options for highest flexibility
The NF-A4x20 FLX (Flexibility) offers 5000, 4400 and 3700rpm settings via the supplied Low-Noise and Ultra-Low-Noise Adapters, allowing fine tuning for maximum flow rate or maximum smoothness.
OmniJoin™ Adapter Set
Because many devices using 40mm fans have proprietary fan plugs, the NF-A4x20 comes with Noctuas OmniJoin™ adapter set. Simply cut off the cable of the original fan, fix it to the adapter with the accompanying 3M Scotchlok™ clamps and you can also operate the NF-A4x20 on proprietary connections!
Extensive connection options
While the 20cm short primary cable helps to avoid cable clutter, the included 30cm extension offers extra range for all cases. Both cables are completely sheathed and a 3:4-pin adapter enables direct connection to the power supply.
