Noctua NF-S12A PWM PC fan Beige, Brown (W x H x D) 120 x 120 x 25 mm

The NF-S12A casing fan marks the third generation of Noctua's classic S12-series, which has received more than 250 awards and recommendations in the international trade press. Thanks to the further developed blade geometry with Anti-Stall knobs and the new AAO frame (short for Advanced Acoustic Optimization), the NF-S12A achieves up to 8% higher efficiency (delivery rate/noise emission) compared to its renowned predecessor. The PWM version falls back on Noctua's specially designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin connectors and is delivered with a low-noise adapter, through which the maximum speed in PWM-mode can be reduced from 1200 to 900rpm. Its superb quietness, the SSO2 reference class bearing and Noctua's proven premium quality make the NF-S12A an exquisite choice for noise-optimized casing cooling.

Manifold excellent S12 design
The NF-S12A uses the third evolutionary stage of Noctua's classic Straight Blade design, which the S12-series has registered countless recommendations from hardware enthusiasts and journalists around the world. Optimised for a still better air flow/noise efficiency, it makes the NF-S12A the ideal low casing fans.

Anti-stand knobs
The anti-stall knobs of the NF-S12A reduce the displacement of vertebrae in situations with medium to Hohem flow resistance and thus extend the so-called stall margin (flow breaking limit). This makes the NF-S12A more versatile than its predecessor and allows better results on heatsink and radiators.

AAO frame system
Noctuas AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimization) frames feature built-in vibration buffers, a stepped inlet area (Stepped Inlet Design), and an interior microstructure (Inner Surface Microstructures) that provide even better performance/noise efficiency.

Stepped inlet design
The stepped inlet area of the Stepped Inlet Design creates more turbulence in the intake. Thus the transition from laminar to turbulent flow is simplified, which adheres better to the frame (Flow Attachment) and thus increases the suction capacity of the fan especially in restricted suction area.

Inner Surface Microstructures
The microstructure inside the frame (Inner Surface Microstructures) creates an boundary layer through which the tips of the fan blades move. This reduces the current release from the suction side of the blade tips, WAS leads to a significant reduction in the rotating tone as well as an increase in the pressure and air flow efficiency.

Integrated anti-vibration pads
The anti-vibration pads manufactured from extra-soft silicone reduce the transmission of minimum vibrations and are at the same time compatible with all standard screws as well as commercially available mounting systems or fan clamps used with CPU-coolers.

PWM IC WITH SCD
The NF-S12A PWM supports fully automatic speed control via PWM and falls back on Noctua's new, specially designed NE-FD1 chip. This new PWM IC integrates Noctuas Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology which minimizes PWM switching noise and thus makes the fan quieter at low speeds.

Low-noise adapter
The NF-S12A PWM is supplied with a low-noise adapter (L.N.A.), which reduces the maximum speed from 1200 to 900rpm. Thus you can operate the fan either with a constant 900rpm or limit the maximum speed in PWM operation.

Extensive connection options
While the 20cm short primary cable helps to avoid cable clutter, the included 30cm extension offers extra range for all cases. Both cables are completely sheathed and a 4-pin Y-cable enables it to control a second PWM fan at the same connection.

SSO2 storage
The NF-S12A is equipped with the further optimized second generation of Noctua's proven SSO storage system. With SSO2, the rear magnet sits closer to the fan axle and thus causes an even better stabilization, WAS leads to a further improved precision and durability.

Metallic bearing bowl
In order to guarantee the highest possible level of production precision, minimum tolerances and excellent long-term stability, the NF-S12A has recourse to a CNC machined bearing shell made of brass.
