Description
Filaflex Foamy is a flexible TPU filament that uses dynamic foam technology to print light, elastic parts with reduced weight and density.
This innovative filament contains a unique foaming agent that is activated at high temperatures and produces prints with a characteristic foamy texture while improving material efficiency. With an initial shore hardness of 82A, which can be set to 60A, it offers exceptional versatility in hardness and density control.
The properties of the material can be finely adjusted by printing parameters, whereby temperatures of 245-250°C and a flow rate of 60-70% achieve a volume expansion of 1.4-1.6 times. This customization allows not only the adjustment of the physical properties, but also allows a variation of the hue based on the temperature settings. The efficient use of materials offers 30-40% more prints per coil, WAS ES Ideal makes for high-volume production while maintaining its excellent flexibility and durability.
Key functions
- Dynamic Foaming: Light parts with adjustable density
- Flexible hardness: Adjustable from 82A to 60A shore
- Increased efficiency: Up to 40% more prints per coil
- Colour control: Adjustable tones by temperature
- Versatile Properties: Adaptable extension and texture
Professional applications
- Innovative shoe fashion: Complete shoes, insoles and soles
- Cycling components: Lightweight handles and seats
- Automotive parts: Damping elements and seals
- Protective equipment: Shock-absorbing pads and equipment
- Sound Management: Sound-absorbing components

Hints
Unique properties of Filaflex FOAMY:
This material contains a propellant which is activated during printing and causes the material to expand when heated. At 100% flow rate, the line width expands by about 37.5% more than the nozzle diameter. To achieve the desired line width, the flow rate must be reduced to compensate for this expansion.
COLOR AND FOAM EFFECT:
The material becomes Heller with increasing foaming. Higher temperatures and lower flow speeds result in more foaming and thus a lighter staining. This effect is normal and indicates proper activation of the propellant.
System requirements
- Ideally, prefer a direct-drive extruder.
