Description
Steam locomotive 01 0529 of the German State Railroad.
Drive on two axles of the tender and via cardan shaft on all three driving axles of the locomotive.
The Deutsche Reichsbahn feared that due to the sometimes poor condition of the 01 series, there would be fewer and fewer locomotives available for the express trains. It was therefore decided to reconstruct 01, WAS meant an increase in power and the elimination of errors in the State Railways and that was particularly good with this series. The new welded boiler was given a third safety valve. All tank structures were covered, the cab was modernized and the Witte wind deflector plates angled at the front.
The "01 529" was equipped in 1964 with combustion chamber boiler, mixing pre-heater and main oil firing. Her last position was Berlin-Schöneweide. The withdrawal took place in July 1983.
