Description
From 1956 onwards, the ÖBB procured 25 light luggage wagons of the series 4061. These were equipped with a luggage compartment and a train driver's compartment and were designed for high-speed city traffic on valley routes. This prevented a luggage car from being carried. As the luggage compartment did not prove to be fit for business in day-to-day operations, the new row designation 1046 was applied from 30 May 1976.
