Description
In 2001, BLS Lötschbergbahn AG decided to order ten Traxx locomotives for international freight traffic. The locomotives of BLS Cargo with the Swiss name Re 485 are technically identical to the series Re 482 from SBB Cargo and the machines of the series 185 from DB Cargo with additional Switzerland package. With the delivery between December 2002 and mid-2003, the remaining AAs were phased out in 4/4. The new machines are mainly used before transit goods trains to and from Germany.
