Description
The ASB 120 starting current limiter is used in conjunction with AC electric motors and power tools that start at idle speed. This electronic current limiter prevents the tripping of the house circuit breaker in the mains connection box through high inrush currents. This starting current limiter is also suitable for capacitor motors, large transformers and halogen lamps.
Not suitable for compressors, high pressure cleaners and other devices starting under load. The ASB cannot be used on inverters and current generators because a current limit does not take place when load changes and the continuous current is not limited.
The ASB is only suitable for operation in the public grid. The use of the ASB is very simple. Instead of the electrical tool, the ASB is plugged into the electrical outlet and the tool – possibly using an extension cable – is plugged into the ASB. The ASB is immediately ready to use, no settings have to be made, there are not even elements for operation. Now start the power tool in idle speed and ideally you will not hear anything from the fact that the ASB limits the inrush current. At the moment the engine of your tool has started up, you can get started right away: Push the wooden board through the circular saw, immerse the Flex in the stone or feed the chopper with garden material.
Just one thing to be careful: Do not let the ASB have some time to cool down and switch the tool on and off several times a minute. If this cannot be avoided, limit the power on to approximately 60 per hour, as the parts for the limits in the ASB become very hot.
