Description
Our wood screws come into play for maximum reliability and simplest workmanship. Their strengths, such as a greatly reduced screw-in torque and the very low gap effect, are particularly in demand in wood construction, because the large wooden dimensions usually installed mean that the wood screws can be quickly screwed in. This is particularly useful in the construction of structural timber, where our partial and full threaded screws are used for high-strength and permanent wood joints. The major advantage of such a screw connection is that the otherwise usual sheet metal molded parts and fittings for the wood joints are completely omitted. In addition to the cost-effectiveness – fittings often have to be completely nailed out – the much more pleasant pure wood optics also play an important role. This means that you save a lot of money on expensive wood connectors, which do not make any difference to the look of a wooden structure. Heavy duty and durable wood joints can be produced in a simple way. For the screwing of stairs, wooden elements or lattices in roof and wall high retaining forces are especially important. These are offered by our universal screw with cap and partial thread. The large SPAX face plate pulls two components together with great force, whereby the optimized partial thread is tuned to the high load capacity of the disc head. We have adapted the shaft length to the most common wood thicknesses. The interaction of large poppet head and optimized part thread allows the screw diameter to be reduced (5mm instead of 6mm) with the same load capacity. This of course benefits the screw-in speed. This means that smaller screws are sufficient for the same use, you save weight, time and money.

Hints
The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called Torx socket. This shape increases the attack surface in our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transfer from screwdriver to screw by T-STAR plus enables a fast working, and much more efficient than with all other drives.
The screws with partial thread are extremely suitable for attaching thin components such as wood material plates, boards or boards to thicker components such as square timber or beams. The short thread screws into the thick component; the thread-free shaft remains in the attachment part. This gives rise to the maximum contact pressure between the two. The thread-free part should be at least equal to the thickness of the attachment part.
The term 4CUT stands for the square shape of the screw tip. These edges supplant the wooden fibers during insertion and creates space for the core diameter of the screw. This reduces the spread pressure exerted by the Kern in the wood and prevents the wood from springing up close to the edges. The necessary torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, because the Kern of the screw does not have to "squeeze" itself into the wood.
With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to zinc plating in terms of corrosion protection. With WIROX no chrome (VI) is used, the screws can be loaded just as well after years in the not directly weathered external area as well as environmentally friendly. WIROX screws are the first choice for all open buildings without direct weathering such as carports or pergoles, for direct weather stresses as with terraces we recommend our screws in the stainless steel version.
