Victron Energy ITR040362041 Isolation transformer 1 x 115 V, 230 V 1 x 115 V, 230 V 3600 W

Indispensable in professional maritime energy systems You prevent electrolytic corrosion and are used primarily as devices to ensure a safe electrical system. Toroidal wound technology for low-noise operation with hohem efficiency. A soft start-up circuit ensures that the land circuit breaker is not tripped when connected.Galvanic isolatorA cost-effective solution to prevent galvanic corrosion that can occur on electric powered boats.Safety and prevention of galvanic corrosionAn isolating transformer provides complete galvanic isolation between the ship and the land network. It increases safety, eliminates galvanic insulators and prevents polarity problems.SecurityIs a matter of course assumed in land-based electricity networks. In the event of a short circuit or ground fault, a fuse blows or a ground fault circuit interrupter (residual current circuit breaker) disconnects the circuit. The connection of the ground line of the land connection with the metal parts of the ship leads to galvanic corrosion as described below. If the ground conductor is omitted and only the phase and the neutral conductor are carried on board, all the fuses mentioned above will be ineffective on board and there will be no short circuit protection.Galvanic corrosionOccurs whenever two different metals, which are electrically conductive to each other, are immersed in a conductive liquid (an electrolyte) such as seawater or contaminated fresh water. In principle, the more galvanically active metal (the more unedloric) will corrode, while the more noble is cathodic protected. The rate of corrosion depends, among other things, on the type of metals involved, the size of the surfaces involved or the water temperature. It is a mistake to acceptGalvanic corrosion can only occur on aluminum or steel vessels. In reality, it affects all ships as soon as metal parts such as the propeller and the shaft, or metal outer skin penetrations come into contact with water, and the ship is grounded via the land connection. It may be tempting to forego the protective conductor when connecting to the land: This is, however, extremely dangerous for the persons on board, since the protective devices no longer respond (see above). The best solutionIn order to prevent galvanic corrosion while maintaining all safety aspects, the installation of an isolating transformer is achieved. This ensures complete galvanic isolation from the land network. The land current is on the primary winding and the on-board power supply on the secondary winding. The transmission ratio is naturally 1:1. All safety systems of the on-board power supply work separately and independantly of the shore power supply.Soft start functionAn inrush current limiter is a matter of course with the Victron isolating transformer, so that problems with high inrush currents are avoided. It is recommended to connect the earthing of the secondary winding even when stored on land (e.g. in winter storage) to ensure maximum safety even then.3600 Watt Auto 115/230 VDepending on the input voltage, this model automatically switches to a supply of 115 V or 230 V.88 V – 130 V supply: Switches to 115 V supplySupply 185 - 250 V: Switches to 230 V supply range.Note: The AC input voltage is increased at the AC output at a ratio of 1:1.05
