Description
The RFD40 Zebra UHF RFID reader is Ideal for fast RFID capture, making business in the retail, hospitality and healthcare sector faster and more efficient. Thanks to tri-function triggers, the RFD40 quickly performs inventories and quickly localizes objects and patients via the ultra-precise Item Finder mode.
With the RFD40 quick-trigger function, employees can capture more than 1,300 RFID and bar codes per second at a reading range of more than 6 meters. The reader has an additional programmable key for inputs or push-to-talk functions and is equipped with a powerful 7,000 mAh battery. It supports several Zebra mobile computers, including WWAN-enabled versions, and is thus the ideal complement for the TC21/TC26, EC50/EC55, computers with Windows operating system and many other devices. Zebra mobile computers still on the market will also be compatible with the RFD40.
EConnex technology enables the RFD40 to quickly connect to mobile computers and snap-and-go pairing. The UHF RFID reader is also very robust: Zebra has designed the RFD40 with a very robust design. It can withstand falls from a height of up to 1.8 meters and withstand 1000 falls from a height of 0.5 meters during the skid test. The RFD40 has IP54 certification and is reliable in a temperature range from -10°C to 50°C.
The reader can be charged alone or together with the mobile computer on which it is mounted thanks to two charging pins located in the RFD40 charging cradle. The mobile computer can also be charged without the reader in the charging tray. Charging trays are available for any combination of the RFD40 reader and mobile computer, including TC21/TC26 and EC50/EC55.
A USB-C connector on the bottom and a pin connector connect the RFD40 reader to a Windows-based PC or other host, allowing the RFD40 to be used as a tethered RFID reader. The Premium and Premium Plus models also offer Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6. The RFD40 is also a future-proof investment, as it meets all RFID and data capture requirements far into the future.
To configure the RFD40 reader live and offline, it is connected to the "123RFID Desktop" via a USB-C cable or cable cup – which also allows you to perform proofs of concepts, demos and firmware upgrades. If no real-time connection to back-end systems is available, the batch mode of the reader enables the acquisition of up to 40,000 RFID's. The RFD40 only needs to be synchronized to upload the data to the host device at any time.
Various charging trays, adapters and holster and an RFD40 battery locking base are available for the UHF RFID reader. It locks the battery and prevents damage by the user and theft.
