Description
Japanese mats are an excellent filter medium. The particularly solid fiber structure ensures a good water flow and a large area for bacteria to settle. Japanese mats do not need to be removed for cleaning if the coarse dirt is caught by filter brushes. Cleaning is therefore not necessary throughout the season. The mats are placed in such a way that the water can flow through without any problem and thus the filter is not blocked. Every cleaning would otherwise destroy a large part of the useful filter bacteria.
