Orion is the light grid/light curtain series from ABB. The products are available in a base and an extended version. All extended versions have an integrated muting and blanking function. The Orion devices are safety light grilles/curtains for applications where the protection of persons from a dangerous machine, robot or other automated systems is required and where there is access to a hazardous area. Orion creates a protective field using infrared beams. As soon as a beam is interrupted, a stop command is triggered and the dangerous movement is stopped. A quick connection is guaranteed by M12 connectors and the wide range of accessories makes the installation quick and easy. The integrated muting lamp reduces the necessary wiring and the available muting-function reduces the complexity. Costs can be optimized using different models.
