Continuously variable transmissions, known as CVT, are continuously variable automatic transmissions. Unlike conventional manual or automatic transmissions, they do not have a fixed number of gears. Instead, a chain or belt runs over two pairs of discs. Due to the corresponding distance changes in the cone-disc pairs, the transmission ratio can be changed continuously within the control range without interrupting the force connection.
Perfect down to the smallest detail
Use the EcoDrive CVT transmission from RC4WD to equip your Tamiya 1:14 scale truck with this efficient automatic transmission. The housing made of CNC-milled die-cast zinc is designed especially prototypical and is thus suitable for scale models. Only a replacement of the drive shaft is necessary due to the design of the gearbox. The transmission ratio is optimized on 540er engines with 13'200 to 18'000 revolutions per minute.
