Highlights & Details

Insulation quality analyzer MIC-15k1

  • Tests of overvoltage protection devices (SPD).
  • Partial discharge cutoff PDI.
  • Measurement of polarization and depolarization currents PDC.
  • Diagnosis of insulation systems using standard measurements of IR, DAR, PI, SV, RT, DD
  • Electrical resistance of the test pieces - display of the dielectric voltage.
  • High immunity to electromagnetic interference guarantees uninterrupted operation in power plants and in close proximity to high-voltage cables up to 1200 kV AC and 800 kV DC.
  • Even increase in test voltage in relation to a certain time (RT ramp test) allows the local detection of partial discharges at the tested object.
  • Efficient converter with a power of ~150 W enables short-circuit burning using the following methods: Visual method (when cables and cables are visible over the entire length), reflectometer method, seismic-acoustic wave detector or A-frame to display the direction of the fault (the conductor must be buried in the ground and have earth contact for this purpose).
  • Compatible with external software.
  • Memory: 990 cells.
  • Operating time with one battery charge: Approx. 5 h.
  • Work at heights up to 3000 m above sea level

Description

The MIC-15k1 test device was developed to measure the insulation resistance of power generation and power supply components, e.g.:
• Single and multi-wire cables,
• Transformers,
• Engines and generators,
• Capacitors, isolators and other devices in substations
To find the application
This insulation tester is particularly suitable for measurements in areas with very high electromagnetic interference, such as substations with 1200 kV AC and 800 kV DC. Thanks to the 15 kV test voltage (in accordance with NSI / NETA ATS-2009 TABLES 100.1), the tester can be used to test objects with a nominal voltage of 34.5 kV.

Functions
Highly efficient HV-inverter with a test voltage of 15 kV and a current of up to 10 mA, suitable for measuring the insulation resistance up to 40 TΩ. Achieving such a result does this
Unrivaled measuring devices. The 3-lead resistance measurement performed with a “GUARD” line eliminates surface leakage currents caused by contaminated insulation, thereby increasing the reliability of the results obtained.
Displayed as: Dielectric dispersion ratio, polarization index PI and dielectric discharge DD (measurement time 60...5999 s).
The device enables the user to evaluate the condition of the insulation by applying the test voltage step by step (SV – Step Voltage) or gradually increasing (RampTest – RT).
• The SV method shows whether the dielectric is in a good condition independent of the applied test voltage.
• The RT method enables the evaluation of the characteristics of the insulating material. The test device gently increases the test voltage without exposing the test sample to electrical stress. The time and voltage are recorded at which values the insulation of the tested device is transmitted. Integrated digital filters with an averaging time of 10, 30, 60, 100, 200 seconds guarantee stable measurement results in areas with high magnetic interference

Setting punch
A very useful function is the possibility of a break-through of the damaged insulation. In the case of open lines, the fault location can usually be determined visually. In the case of not visible cables, can
With this method a seismic/acoustic wave of the fault point is generated. Under certain conditions, an energetic discharge occurs cyclically. By using a geophone the exact location of the discharge can be determined. The measurement also enables the location of sporadic errors, e.g. in the case of rain by means of reflectometers. In case of short circuits to earth, the voltage drop method and the A-frame can be used.

Automatic storage of measurements
Results can be saved automatically. The number depends on the individual data per measurement.
