Description

Where others don't even try
In the immediate vicinity of transformers or in transformer stations, where circuits are equipped with high current protection (fuse links with a rated power of several hundred amps, motor circuit breakers), fault currents can reach several hundred kiloamps. Measuring the residual current loop impedance in such networks requires a high-current meter capable of measuring loop impedance values in the milliohm range. Our patented technical solution, which uses components that are not available in the market (unique fault resistance), enables us to offer a measuring instrument with unique measurement accuracy under such demanding conditions.

Measurements without compromises
Commercially available residual current impedance meters perform the measurements asymmetrically, i.e. using half wave currents. This solution involves the transition and DC constant, WAS does not always lead to linear behavior of the transformer during the tests. This in turn impairs the accuracy of the results. The loop impedance measuring devices MZC-330S and MZC-320S apply a symmetrical current for the measurements, i.e. they use the entire sine wave - on the basis of an advanced measurement method.

Fields of application
The devices are used for measurements in networks with the following nominal voltages:
• Up to 750 V, where the expected residual current can reach 95.8 kA, measured in accordance with EN 61557 (MZC-330S),
• Up to 500 V, where the expected residual current can reach 69.4 kA, measured in accordance with EN 61557 (MZC-320S).
These parameters make the measuring devices perfect for testing and measuring wind farms, railway networks and power supply controlled installations.

Ease of working through "Remote control"
The device can also be remote-controlled using a web browser – for this purpose only the measuring device has to be registered in the same WLAN network as the control device. After accessing the virtual operator interface in the browser, the user can start the measurement from a convenient distance and then read the results. The results can be accessed in the same way. This can of course also be downloaded in the classical way, i.e. via a USB-connection.
