Description

Each challenge has grown
In the construction of medium and large PV plants, planners, guided by the need to ensure the highest possible energy yield and the associated maximum return, choose inverters with a voltage of 1500 V DC / 800 V AC. Testing of such a system must include both the AC and DC sides of the PV system. All AC circuits must be tested in accordance with the requirements of IEC 60364-6-1.
The output voltage of 800 V AC, which often exceeds this value in real terms, is a major problem for operators and maintenance teams, since there are no devices on the market for such high voltages. which allows the system to check that the conditions for protection against electric shock are met with regard to the short-circuit loop impedance.
Sonel was the first company in the world to rise to the challenge of developing a loop impedance measuring device for operating voltages up to 900 V AC and measurement category CAT IV 1000 V. The measuring instrument Sonel MZC-340-PV was developed.

The market leader does not compromise
The energy released at a mains voltage of 800-900 V AC can pose a hazard for the measuring personnel. For this reason, the MZC-340-PV is exclusively remote controlled.

Fields of application
The device is used for measurements in networks with a nominal voltage of up to 900 V AC in which the probable fault current can reach over 100 kA, measured in accordance with EN 61557.
Based on these parameters, the measuring devices are perfectly suitable for tests and measurements in wind farms, railway networks and in plants monitored by energy utilities.

Ease of working through "Remote control"
The device can also be remote-controlled using a web browser – for this purpose only the measuring device has to be registered in the same WLAN network as the control device. After accessing the virtual operator interface in the browser, the user can start the measurement from a convenient distance and then read the results. The results can be accessed in the same way.
This can of course also be downloaded in the classical way, i.e. via a USB-connection.
