User & Safety Instructions 2986522 Tensiometer Pronova
Description
The Tensiometer measures the suction voltage in the soil that is important for the plant and does not have to be calibrated as a measuring instrument.
Suction tension is the force by which the water is held in the ground. This force must yield the plant roots in order to absorb water. The reason for this is the soil-specific fine pores and capillaries.
The small distemper can be used in smaller vessels and pots from approx. 8 cm, as well as in the common pot sizes. Even when using loose and granular substrates, the tensiometer is suitable for measuring the suction tension. The maximum suction power of this type is limited to 200 - 300 hPa due to the design and the smaller filling volume. The insertion depth of the tensiometer is 40-70 mm.
The screwed-on pressure gauge displays the suction voltage of a tensiometer directly and without preparation. The devices are maintenance-free and very durable, but they can be classified as a sensitive measuring device and handled with the appropriate care. The pressure gauges are individually adjusted and the zero point can be set. Together with M-sensors they are used for control measurements or for evaluating the set switching point.
