The new Ultimaker PVA material is water-soluble filament and is specially developed as support material for Ultimaker 3. PVA is used exclusively as support material, which disappears completely after the printing process after it has spent some time in a water bath. As a result, the filament can only be used with Dual extruders FDM printers. The great advantage of PVA is that a designer does not have to consider any geometric limitations when creating a 3D model. The material harmonizes perfectly with the Ultimaker PLA and nylon filaments. Cura has its own material profiles for these combinations.
