Description
This installation frame for car radios is a component for dashboard installation, which extends the factory opening for installation of a 2-DIN radio. It is installed in the original opening of the dashboard and has a 2-DIN frame, which guides the retrofit device in the correct position. The attachment points match the existing installation points in the vehicle. When installed, the aperture adapter closes flush with the surrounding paneling to get the original look. The frame secures the radio and prevents movements caused by vibration and road loads. Typically, it is used to replace the factory radio in certain Porsche models. The original bezel is removed, the frame is inserted into the recess, and the new radio is attached to the frame, before the dashboard is reassembled.
