User & Safety Instructions 3205042 Arducam Camera unit MBS-SES-185-25

Description

The ArduCAM team has released a number of camera modules for the Raspberry Pi, including 5MP and 8MP modules. They are fully compatible with the official version and are divided into standard version, optimized optical power version, miniature spy camera version, noir version, motorized IR cut version and programmable motorized focus camera version. These camera modules support all Raspberry Pi models and require a 15-to-22-pin cable or an adapter to work with the Pi Zero. The official Pi HQ camera is available in one model only. It does not come with a lens and it is not easy for users to find a case. To solve these problems, Arducam has released this camera module, an adapted IMX447 camera board with three hole spacing and a 6mm CS lens. And you can download the 3D files to print your chassis as you like. This camera module supports all Raspberry Pi and PC/laptop (requires MIPI adapter board and USB camera shield, not included).

IMPORTANT NOTE ON THE IMX477 MIPI LANES
The IMX477 camera module supports 4 lanes in hardware, but the 4-lane camera driver requires additional adjustments.

Standard Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano/Xavier NX cannot physically support a 4-lane connection (both have only 2-lane CSI connections). Only the Raspberry Pi Compute Module and some third-party Jetson Carrier Boards have 4-lane hardware support. Therefore, this is not a general need. A 4-lane connection requires additional work, especially camera drivers, in addition to the 4-lane physical port. And the drivers are limited by the performance of the platform itself. For example, 4-Lane cannot unlock 4k video on the Raspberry Pi because the VideoCore does not currently support it. Even the Jetson Nano is limited to some extent by the encoding possibilities. You need to make sure you really need it.
