Four point contact bearings are single row angular contact ball bearings. This means they come with a more slimline axial design than their double row counterparts. These bearings consist of robust outer races, two-part inner races, balls and retainers. Two-part inner races enable loading a large number of balls. Inner race parts have been custom manufactured for each bearing, and are not interchangeable between same-size bearings. Outer race including ball retainer and the two parts of the inner race can be separately assembled.

Postposed characters are used to identify different bearing types.
