Description

4-piece basic set for ICE 1 train set of Deutsche Bahn.
Consists of a traction unit, series 401.0 (motorized), a wagon 1. Class, genre 801.8, a car 2. Class, category 802.8 and a traction unit, category 401.5 (not motorized).

The era of high-speed traffic at the German Federal Railways began in summer 1991 with the ICE 1. For the first time, a completely new rail system was introduced with newly developed trains, special high-speed lines and a major timetable reform. The railcar concept with closed, wide transitions of wagons, was path-breaking for the modern rail fast traffic. The maximum speed of 280 km/h in regular operation, as well as the superior comfort revolutionized rail traffic and secured important market shares in competition with the automobile and the aircraft.
