Description
Carry out the decisive measurements required for the installation, testing, maintenance and documentation of solar modules or photovoltaic systems - with
A single, easy-to-use device.
The Fluke IRR1-SOL radiation tester is designed to simplify installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of photovoltaic systems and to allow the measurement of solar panel radiation intensity, temperature, inclination and alignment with a single handheld device. Thanks to its robust, compact design, a protective carrying case and an easy-to-read, high-contrast LC display for reading measured values in direct sunlight, you can use the IRR1-SOL anywhere. The requirements of IEC 62446-1 standards for testing, documenting and maintaining photovoltaic systems are met by simple operation, delay-free measurement of solar radiation and integrated temperature sensor. In addition, the integrated compass and the inclination sensor enable a quick measurement and documentation of the alignment of roof or mounting location as well as slopes and module inclination during the measurement, installation or adjustment of a system.
Whether working on a roof system or on a large system, the handy IRR1-SOL measuring device should have every solar installer and technician in his tool bag.
Use the IRR1-SOL for:Planning and measuring photovoltaic systems
The solar radiation is determined taking into account the shading in order to determine the expected energy production at the respective assembly site. It will be in full sunshine hours

Hours of sunshine. To determine the actual solar radiation (W/m²) and shading at the installation site, use the Fluke IRR1-SOL to determine reference values.
Measurements
After installing the system, ensure that it functions as intended by measuring the electrical characteristics and actual output power of the modules.
The power of a photovoltaic system is calculated from its current/voltage curve (I-V curve). Use the IRR1-SOL radiation gauge to determine the amount of sunlight required to calculate the I-V curve of output power.
Comparison and diagnosis
Even if installed correctly, a photovoltaic system may not produce the expected electrical power. To obtain the expected output power, the system must have the
Receive the correct amount of energy by irradiation in order to be able to generate the DC voltage for feeding into the inverters.
