UBC deep groove ball bearings are heat treated, so that they can be used in operating temperatures of up to 150 °C.

The suffix 2Z after the type number indicates shields on both sides. The shields protect the inner part of the bearings from the ingress of dirt and other foreign bodies. If the outer ring rotates however, these bearings achieve no more than 40% of the maximum speed rating.
