Portable Store ‘n’ Go hard drive drives are FAT32-formatted so that they can be used on Windows and Mac operating systems.

The Nero BackItUp & Burn Essentials software, also included in the scope of delivery, will provide additional security and help with the backup of your notebook or your PC hard drive. BackItUp & Burn Essentials combines three applications in one. You can backup all your files, folders and hard drives, whenever you want, or run an automatic backup at a pre-defined time and thus ensure additional security. Nero Express gives you the option to burn your files onto a CD or DVD. And with the Nero Rescue Agent you can restore damaged files.

The Nero BackItUp & Burn Essentials software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 (but not with Mac OS).

Also included in the scope of delivery of the portable Store ‘n’ Go hard drive drive from Verbatim is the power-saving software Green Button. Green Button stops the drive from running when it is not being used. This enhances efficiency and saves power.

There are three power-saving options. The Suppress mode can be set in such a way that it starts after a usage of ten minutes or after further ten-minute intervals (up to maximum 120 minutes). If the drive is to be stopped immediately, click on the Green Button icon on the desktop, or set the "Never Suspend the Disk" option for the drive.
