User & Safety Instructions 3453373 Espressif ESP-PROG PCB design board
Hints
ESP-Prog is one of the development and debugging tools of Espressif and offers functions such as automatic downloading of firmware, serial communication and JTAG-debugging. ESP-Prog's automatic firmware download and serial communication features are supported by ESP8266, ESP32, ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3 and ESP32-C3, while JTAG debugging is supported only by ESP32, ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3 and ESP32-C3.
ESP-Prog can be connected easily with a PC with just one USB-cable. The PC can then identify the program and JTAG interfaces (functions) of the board by their port numbers.
Because the power supply voltage may be different on different user boards, each of the ESP-Prog interfaces can be supplied with 5 V or 3.3 V pin bars to ensure current compatibility. The power supply of ESP-Prog can be switched between 3.3 V and 5 V, but the RX/TX and JTAG signals are always at the 3.3 V level.
