Navigation systems for cars and caravans are designed for long-term use and work even without a mobile network. It is particularly important for campers to take into account the vehicle’s length, height and weight in order to avoid unsuitable routes and low bridges.

Smartphones are a popular choice for navigation thanks to their flexibility and up-to-date traffic information. Many motorhome owners rely on a solar power system for their motorhome’s electricity supply, which serves as a useful addition to the standard equipment. There are also other solutions available:

To ensure that the energy generated can be used reliably, an efficient energy storage system is essential in a caravan. The process of upgrading the independent power supply therefore usually begins with increasing the battery capacity or installing an additional body-mounted battery.

A reliable power supply is essential for turning your caravan into a fully-fledged home. One or more auxiliary batteries power the 12-volt electrical system and are charged whilst driving, via shore power, solar energy or a generator. Modern systems are increasingly relying on high-performance lithium batteries.

When connected to shore power, both 230-volt and 12-volt sockets are available for unrestricted use. If 230-volt appliances are to be operated without shore power, an inverter is used to convert the direct current from the battery into alternating current.

When camping in a caravan, atmospheric LED interior lighting creates a cosy atmosphere, especially when it gets dark outside. LED lights are impressive for their low energy consumption and long lifespan. With LED strip lights and TouchLights, you can position light sources exactly where they’re needed.

A major advantage of LEDs when camping is that they generate very little heat. This means that lights can be fitted even in confined spaces, near curtains or under the roof, without posing a fire risk. Furthermore, LED lights are robust, well-protected and resistant to knocks and vibrations.

Camping torches and solar torches provide safety and create a cosy atmosphere around the caravan. A head torch or pocket torch should always be within easy reach when camping, for example for walking at night or carrying out quick checks on the vehicle.

Modern LED camping lamps impress with their low power consumption and long burn time of over 100 hours, depending on the model. Rechargeable camping lamps offer reliable brightness and can be conveniently charged via cable or operated with replacement batteries. Solar lamps charge during the day using solar energy and, in good sunlight, provide up to eight hours of light in the evening.
