Description
With the Railjet 2, the Austrian Federal Railways continued their successful high-speed strategy and introduced a new generation of long-distance trains that combine the highest level of comfort, modern technology and improved energy efficiency. The Railjet 2 is based on the so-called Viaggio Next level platform of the manufacturer Siemens Transportation and was conceived as a successor of the tested Railjet 1. In this context, it is oriented more strongly to a closed train assembly with consistent passenger control and high modularity.
