Ethernet over Coax - as simple as a switch!The EOC-devices develop by the help of the G.hn standard an encrypted Ethernet over coaxial network via the coaxial cable of the TV cabling (television and radio are of course transmitted). This EOC network acts like a large, house-distributed switch (in the example with 8 ports). Two Ethernet-enabled devices (PCs, notebooks, servers, printers, smart TVs and much more) can be connected to each EOC device. In addition, the EOC 2-31 is equipped with WLAN. Typical scenarios may be residential buildings with satellite television, law firms, doctors' offices or offices where LAN wiring is not possible/desired.The EOC 1-31 and EOC 2-31 types are backwards compatible with the 2 devices.
