Description

Electric locomotive 244 127 of the German State Railroad.
From the electric locomotive of the series E 44 almost 200 locomotives were placed in service from 1932 to 1954. After the end of the war, locomotives stationed on the central German network in May 1945 had to be handed over to the USSR as part of the reparations after the electric operation had stopped. In 1952, the GDR was able to buy back the majority of the machines. A total of 46 locomotives were reworked in Raw Dessau and put into service in 1955. Between 1961 and 1964 the DR fitted the locomotives with pantographs 58 type pantographs with double rocker. This enabled them to be operated with only one pantograph applied.
