Description
TT TR E- LOC. BR 243 DR IV New version 2026: Electric locomotive BR 243 of DR for TT model railway Epoch IV.
With increasing power plant capacities and the oil crisis as a catalyst, the German State Railways (DR) pushed the electrification of its route network and also required a universally usable train locomotive. After commissioning the LEW "Hans Beimler" Hennigsdorf, the only Ellok manufacturer of the GDR, the prototype 212 001-2 was presented at the Leipzig Spring Fair in 1982. This is also called "White Lady" because of the unique painting. From 1984 on the locomotives of series 243 were delivered in series to passenger and medium heavy goods train service. At weddings, the DR fleet included 640 copies. After the reunification, the step-by-step redrawing of the 143 series took place. When DB AG was founded in 1994, all machines had already been redrawn and used nationwide. With the introduction of the more advanced 112.1 series, whose highest speed is 160 km/h and the new division in business areas, the BR 143 locomotives were only used in local traffic with their maximum speed of 120 km/h. The model in track TT impresses through its prototypical shape, fine roof details with metal pantographs and modern LED-technology. Thanks to reliable operating characteristics and simple digital upgrade, the BR 243 is an ideal supplement for realistic TT-systems of the era IV.
