Description

Do you already own a photo camera and would like to create impressive pictures of the night sky with the help of the long exposure or even make time-lapse recordings with little effort?

Then the BRESSER StarTracker Astrofoto mounting set is the ideal basis. This mount is particularly suitable not only for the introduction to astrophotography, but also the experts swear on a compact and easy to use mount, in order to automatically compensate for the natural rotation of the earth. The built-in tracking motor rotates the attached camera precisely against the rotation of the earth and thus the stars remain point-shaped even with long-term exposures.

This set contains all the components except for one camera and lens, which are necessary for a quick and comfortable introduction to the world of astrophotography: A sturdy BRESSER tripod TP-100 DX with transport bag, the BRESSER tripod head with fine adjustment MH-100 (pole cradle), the BRESSER pole finder for StarTracker PM-100 and, of course, the BRESSER StarTracker Astrofoto mount PM-100 with ball head.

After the installation of the light and compact photo mounting, simply set the approximate latitude (pole height) on the stand head MH-100 and aim at the polar star with the help of the optical pole finder. Then mount the camera with photo lens on the supplied heavy ball head using the quick-release plate. With the ball head, the camera can be aligned and fixed at any time on any sky-section. As soon as the tracking motor is switched on, the long-term exposure can be started immediately. All this doesn't even take 5 minutes ...

Which cameras are generally suitable for use with the BRESSER StarTracker Astrofoto mount?
All cameras with 1/4'' (6.3 mm) tripod connection thread and the setting option Bulb B for long-term exposure.

The Bresser photo mount is designed for carrying and tracking a camera with a maximum lens weight of 2.0 kg in Polar mode. In Azimuthal mode, the mount also supports cameras with a total weight of up to 5.0 kg. Ideal for the beginning are bright wide angle lenses, because with increasing lens focal length and exposure time the requirements for the tracking accuracy increase. Thus, a recording with wide-angle lens can be exposed without problems for up to several minutes and the stars remain point-shaped. For example, for a 200mm telephoto lens, the polar alignment of the photo mount must then be exactly correct. This is done quickly with the integrated alignment tunnel for aiming the polar star.

Typical achievable exposure times with good tracking accuracy are: 16mm wide angle lens: 5 minutes (300sek.) , 100mm Tele-lens: 1 minute (60sek.)

The tracking is carried out by a precise stepper motor, which can be set in different speeds via the operating menu. The low power consumption enables the operation of up to 20 hours with a set of batteries or as long as desired via USB connection.
