Description
The device provides comprehensive diagnostics of almost all supported control units and vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, ABS and SRS airbag. In addition to reading and deleting error codes, it supports advanced customizations, ECU coding, and comprehensive bi-directional control.
Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Smart, Sprinter, BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, Porsche and the brands of the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, SEAT, V.A.G. group Škoda, Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, VW LT3 and MAN Light Duty.
With 48 service functions, CAN FD support, automatic vehicle identification, high-performance hardware and lifelong free software updates, the DE V4.0 is suitable for diagnostics, maintenance, adjustment and repair work on numerous German vehicle platforms.
Powerful hardware
The DE V4.0 is equipped with a 5" / 12.7 cm HD touch screen, Android operating system, quad-core processor with 1.3 GHz, 64 GB memory and a 5,000 mAh rechargeable battery. The battery life in test mode is approx. six hours. The clear user interface enables a fast and smooth vehicle diagnosis.
Lifetime free online updates
Unlike many other diagnostic devices, the DE V4.0 does not incur annual subscription fees. Software updates are provided free of charge over WLAN for life. New diagnostic protocols, additional vehicle covers and functional improvements are being continuously added.
Support for the current CAN FD protocol
CAN-FD (Controller Area Network – Flexible Data Rate) is a modern vehicle communication protocol used in current German vehicle platforms. The DE V4.0 supports this protocol and thus enables communication with appropriately equipped vehicles and control units.
Advanced bi-directional control
The DE V4.0 supports active tests and the bi-directional control of many available control units. The diagnostic tool sends specific commands to individual components and evaluates their response in real time. This means that faults can be reduced more quickly without replacing components exclusively according to the principle of trial and error.
Examples of supported active tests on compatible vehicles:
Drive the ABS pump motor and check the operation of the hydraulic system
Control the power windows, door mirrors and door locks
Activate the fuel pump and check the function or pressure build-up
Activate the throttle valve opening and check the response
Perform output and actuator tests on many other control units and vehicle modules
Advanced control device coding
Professional ECU coding combines ECU replacement, software diagnostics, data recovery and individual vehicle adaptations. It is currently available for BMW vehicles built in 2006 and for vehicles manufactured by the V.A.G. group built in 2010.
Control equipment coding for BMW
Series support: Comprehensive control unit cover for BMW models from E-Chassis to the current G-Chassis, depending on vehicle and controller.
DME/DDE Repair and Data Recovery: Supports the recovery of damaged data and the elimination of software related faults in important engine control units.
BMW-specific troubleshooting: Supports the diagnosis of sudden power loss, unclearly identifiable drive errors and unusual Hohem fuel consumption.
Control equipment coding for V.A.G.
Vehicle configuration and adaptation: Codes control units based on vehicle-specific features such as body shape, equipment version, left or right-hand drive and fuel type.
Control Unit Replacement and Synchronization: Transfers the original vehicle configuration data to newly installed computers, thus eliminating errors due to inconsistent coding.
Adjust country and market variants
Change the brand and logo ID in the infotainment system
Update the controller installation list in the gateway
Adapt the switching logic of the daytime running light
Customise the time and function of the automatic central locking system
The activation or personalization of hidden functions may require additional adjustments and basic settings. The coding support of other brands can be supplemented by future software updates.
Automatic vehicle identification using AutoVIN technology
After connection, the DE V4.0 can automatically detect supported vehicles using the vehicle identification number. Manual input is omitted, input errors are reduced and diagnostics can be started faster and more reliably.
Multi-language user interface
Supported languages: German, English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Russian, Hungarian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Danish and Finnish.
Full OBD2 test modes
The device supports all 10 OBD2 test modes for vehicles with OBDII/EOBD-/OBD-/OBD-/KOBD-/CAN-/CAN-FD standards starting from the year of manufacture 1996, including read and delete error codes, I/M readiness, live data, freeze frame data, vehicle information, O2-sensor test, on-board monitoring, EVAP-system test as well as the reading of pending error codes.
Save and print diagnostic reports
Already tested vehicle systems can be quickly accessed and diagnostic reports can be saved, shared and printed. The feedback function can be used to report problems to technical support during use. Diagnostic reports can be printed for later documentation via a Windows PC and a USB connection.
Supported vehicle protocols
ISO 9141-2, ISO 14230-2, ISO 15765, K/L-Line, flashing code, SAE J1850 VPW, SAE J1850 PWM, ISO 11898 (High Speed, MiddleSpeed, Low Speed and Single Wire CAN), CAN-FD, SAE J2610, GM UART, UART Echo Byte Protocol, Honda Diag-H Protocol, TP2.0 and TP1.6.
