User & Safety Instructions 3814702 Icarsoft OBD II POR V4.0 Compatible with: Porsche
Description
The instrument provides PIWIS level diagnostics and covers all supported Porsche systems, from engine and transmission to ABS and SRS airbag to advanced control unit adjustments. In addition, extensive bi-directional control, 28 service functions and life-long free software updates are available.
The POR V4.0 is delivered with pre-installed Porsche diagnostic software and is ready for immediate use. In addition, two further groups of vehicle brands can be downloaded free of charge.
According to the manufacturer, the device is compatible with Porsche models of the models of the models from 1996 to 2025. Thanks to its high-performance hardware, large 5-inch touchscreen, CAN FD support and intuitive operation, the POR V4.0 is suitable for ambitious private users as well as for professional workshops.
Powerful hardware
The POR V4.0 is equipped with a 5-inch LCD touch screen, Android operating system, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 64 GB memory and a 5,000 mAh battery. The battery life in test mode is approx. six hours. The clear user interface enables a fast and smooth vehicle diagnosis.
Lifetime free online updates
Unlike many other diagnostic tools, the POR V4.0 does not incur annual subscription fees. Software updates are provided free of charge over WLAN for life. New diagnostic logs and additional vehicle covers are continuously added.
Support for the current CAN FD protocol
CAN-FD (Controller Area Network – Flexible Data Rate) is a modern communication protocol used on current Porsche platforms. The POR V4.0 supports this protocol and thus enables communication with appropriately equipped vehicles and control devices.
Advanced bi-directional control
Conventional OBD diagnostic devices often only read error codes. The POR V4.0 also enables the direct control of individual components and the checking of their response in real time. This makes it easier to determine whether a fault is in the control, wiring or in the relevant component itself.
Examples of supported active tests on compatible Porsche models:
Activate the ABS pump motor and bleed individual brake circuits in a targeted manner
Activate the fuel pump and check the function or pressure build-up
Check the power windows, door locks, exterior mirrors, and sunroof motors in modules
Operate throttle to isolate idling and acceleration problems
Perform active tests on PDK transmissions, PASM dampers, and PCM infotainment modules
This allows faulty sensors, valves, relays, actuators and other components to be tested without the need to replace components.
Automatic vehicle identification using AutoVIN technology
After connection, the POR V4.0 can automatically detect supported vehicles using the vehicle identification number. Manual input is omitted, input errors are reduced and diagnostics can be started faster and more reliably.
Multi-language user interface
Supported languages: German, English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Russian, Hungarian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Danish and Finnish.
Full OBD2 test modes
The device supports all 10 OBD2 test modes for vehicles with OBDII/EOBD-/OBD-/OBD-/KOBD-/CAN-/CAN-FD standards starting from the year of manufacture 1996, including read and delete error codes, I/M readiness, live data, freeze frame data, vehicle information, O2-sensor test, on-board monitoring, EVAP-system test as well as the reading of pending error codes.
Save and print diagnostic reports
Already tested vehicle systems can be quickly accessed and diagnostic reports can be saved, shared and printed. The feedback function can be used to report problems to technical support during use. Diagnostic reports can be printed for later documentation via a Windows PC and a USB connection.
Supported vehicle protocols
ISO 9141-2, ISO 14230-2, ISO 15765, K/L-Line, flashing code, SAE-J1850 VPW, SAE-J1850 PWM, ISO 11898 (High Speed, MiddleSpeed, Low Speed and Single Wire CAN), CAN-FD, SAE J2610, GM UART, UART Echo Byte Protocol, Honda Diag-H Protocol, TP2.0 and TP1.6.

Important service functions for daily maintenance work
Oil Service Reset: Allows the engine oil service life system to be reset after an oil change. In addition, service display, service kilometers and maintenance intervals can be reset.
Electronic throttle control: Supports the basic setting and reprogramming of the throttle valve parameters after resetting or replacing the throttle valve.
EPB Brake Pad Reset: Allows the electric parking brake pistons to be retracted and the brake pads to be reset after replacement.
Steering angle sensor calibration: Calibrates the steering wheel in a straight line position or relearns the steering angle sensor after repair or replacement of steering components.
DPF regeneration: Supports diesel particle filter regeneration, programming of replaced DPF components and reprogramming after replacing the engine control unit.
Injector coding: Relearns the injector control parameters after replacement or replacement.
ABS bleeding: Bleed the ABS system to restore braking performance or assist with retraining after replacing ABS components.
