Description

The CAN@net NT is offered in three variants: A CAN@net NT 100 with a classic CAN channel and D-Sub 9 connectors, a CAN@net NT 200 with two classic CAN channels and a CAN@net NT 420 with four CAN channels, of which two channels can be switched between CAN and CAN-FD. All devices have three operating modes and can be used as a PC interface as well as a bridge and gateway.

· up to four independant CAN channels (two CAN-FD)
· powerful filter, ID translation, data mapping and multiplex functionality
· MQTT support for easy cloud connectivity (Publisher and Subscriber)
· Execution of pre-defined actions with event-controlled "action rules"
· Programming any action rules using LUA
· Windows configuration tool for easy device configuration via USB or Ethernet
· Adjustable security levels for device access (configuration or firmware upload)
· Reliable use in harsh industrial environments
· Easy coupling of CAN and CAN FD systems and devices
· Bridge of large distances and easy system access via Ethernet
· Cost savings through simpler wiring
· Extension of system expansion as well as tree/star topologies
· Increased system reliability
· Protection by galvanic separation

Can/CAN FD Ethernet Gateway
In gateway mode, the CAN@net NT can be accessed by different operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, VxWorks or QNX) and from embedded systems. This is done via a standard TCP/IP socket and a simple ASCII protocol. The CAN@net NT thus provides a simple and flexible access to CAN systems via a LAN or via the Internet as a CAN Ethernet gateway.

PC interface
The supplied VCI driver for Windows can be used to operate the CAN@net NT like all IXXAT CAN PC interface cards. This means that all VCI-based IXXAT tools, such as the canAnalyzer, can be used with the CAN@net NT, but also customer-specific applications, which are created on the basis of the VCI driver. The VCI CAN driver offers the possibility to communicate with up to 128 CAN@net NT simultaneously.

Can Ethernet CAN Bridge
Using up to four CAN@net NT 420 (two CAN@net NT 100/200), a CAN Ethernet CAN bridge can be realized, which connects up to four CAN channels per device (2 for CAN@net NT 200, 1 for CAN@net NT 100). The bridge enables the exchange of CAN messages between CAN systems via TCP/IP over long distances – using existing Ethernet infrastructures. The segmentation of CAN systems also increases the reliability and reliability of the overall system.

Filtering and multiplexing
Mapping tables provide a highly flexible way to configure message exchange between all channels. Filter and conversion rules can be applied to CAN and CAN FD messages. This can reduce the bus load on each network, since only messages that are of interest to the other network are transmitted. For SAE J1939 applications, a special mapping table is provided that is adapted to the specific parameters. The multiplexing/demultiplexing functionality for the data enables the mapping of e.g. CAN-FD data to several standard CAN messages and vice versa.

action Rules
In response to received messages as well as device or CAN bus status, various actions can be performed automatically, such as sending messages (CAN, CAN-FD, MQTT), changing device settings or controlling device LEDs. action rules are created using intuitive drop-down menus for events and actions in the Windows-based device configuration tool or via LUA scripts.

MQTT for cloud connectivity
Whether device status or CAN/CAN FD data, the MQTT protocol implemented in the CAN@net NT enables the transmission of the information to the cloud – easily programmable via action rule lists. Via freely available broker services and apps, status messages and system values can be easily and easily transferred to e.g. smartphones or cloud services.

Cyclic transfer
The cyclic transmission function allows cyclic forwarding of messages. Both the messages and the cycle times are defined in a central transmission table.
