Description

ROCK 3A is an improved version of ROCK Pi 4 with some performance improvements and additional new interfaces.

The Rock 3A is based on the RK3568 chip. This allows more input and output possibilities. In addition to an M.2 Key M port for connecting an NVMe SSD with two PCIe 3.0 lanes, an M.2 Key E port connected via a single PCIe 2.0 lane is also available. This can also be addressed via UART, but also supports WiFi 6 cards for a particularly fast, wireless connection to a network.

The built-in RK3568 has four Cortex A55 cores, with clock speeds of up to two gigahertz. Plus a Mali G52 graphics solution. In addition to the NVMe SSD, an eMMC module or a classic microSD card can be used to store the operating system, applications and data. A Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE support is available for network connection.

Image signals can be transmitted via the HDMI 2.0 port, plus a MIPI DSI connector. A 3.5 mm jack plug allows the easy connection of headsets or loudspeakers. External accessories and also external memory can be connected via two USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports each. A battery-operated real-time clock is available on the 85 x 54 mm large developer board. The 40-pin GPIO pin header is color-coded and is mostly compatible with the Raspberry Pi and the Rock Pi 4.

Debian 10 is also supported on the software page.
