Description
High-quality printing results with the Ultimaker S7
More than 25,000 customers rely on the Ultimaker S5 on a daily basis to develop the innovative solutions of tomorrow. The award-winning S5 is one of the most popular professional 3D printers on the market. With the Ultimaker S7 the 3D printing experience is now lifted to the next level. The new S-series member is equipped with the latest technology: It features an integrated Air Manager, a flexible hot bed and fully automatic print bed alignment. This makes it even easier and reliable to produce high-quality 3D components and models.
Flexible printing bed
The flexible steel printing bed allows the easy removal of 3D printing parts without the need for any tools. Means the Ultimaker S7 is ready for operation in a fraction of the previously needed time. 25 magnets and 4 pins ensure a secure and stable alignment of the print bed, allowing single-handed operation. A sensor prevents printing from being started without a hot bed being inserted. The flexible bed's PEI coating means you can also dispense with adhesive or hot bed bonding for some materials.
Integrated Air Manager
The integrated air manager hardly filters the exhaust air from the Ultimaker S7 at every pressure audible. Independent tests revealed that this process removes up to 95% of ultrafine particles from the air. The pressure chamber, which is completely closed by the Air Manager attachment at the top, is opened by a single glass door, so that fewer air gaps occur. This not only makes it easier to keep the internal temperature at a constant level and increase print quality, but also gives greater freedom in choosing the printer location (e.g. next to open windows or HVAC systems).
Inductive print head
The quality of the first layer determines whether 3D printing fails or succeeds. The new inductive sensor of the Ultimaker S7, which is less audible, detects tiny deviations in the topography of the print bed, which increases print accuracy. The tilt of the bed is calibrated at the factory and then automatically maintained so that no knurled screws are needed for alignment and the risk of user error is reduced. This allows you to start a new print at any time, without worrying about the quality of the first layer. An even faster, non-contact probe will be available from spring 2023.
1080p-Camera
Ultimaker digital factory enables a remote monitoring of the print jobs in a quality never known before. The new 1080p camera in the Ultimaker S7 is mounted at a higher position to provide a better view of the first printing layers. A continuous video feed update will also be provided later in 2023.
Print head reliability
The newly designed print head features an early detection sensor that helps protect it from material flooding. In addition, it has stronger magnets that ensure that the print-core flap remains closed, as well as a front fan with reverse travel direction, which reduces cleaning and maintenance costs.
WLAN with 2.4 and 5 GHz
The Ultimaker S7 offers 5 GHz WLAN compatibility. This reduces radio interference and improves network stability resulting in a more reliable radio signal. This is especially useful for companies that only allow connections via the 5 GHz band.
Material compatibility
A few clicks allow you to print over 280 materials without any problem for creating an almost unlimited number of 3D printing applications. These material profiles (from recycled materials to composite materials for technical applications) have been tested over thousands of hours by the respective manufacturers and users in practice.
Compatibility with print files
Compatibility was particularly important in the development of the Ultimaker S7. If you already have an Ultimaker S5, can the existing digital library with S5 print files also be used correctly on the S7? Without reslicing required.
Fast setup and easy onboarding
From unpacking to switching on, the installation of the Ultimaker S7 takes about 30 minutes. Just scan the QR code on the package and follow the steps in the new digital unboxing guide. This allows 3D printing of high-quality workpieces and models.
Continuous improvements
The Ultimaker S7 will continuously improve. Why? Firmware and software enhancements are provided regularly to help you continue to enjoy one of the best 3D printing experiences in the industry. New S7 updates are already being planned, including faster, non-contact bed probing, continuous video surveillance and compatibility for 3D metal printing.
