Description

The BRESSER XPD-101 expedition microscope is an extremely compact microscope with phase contrast. It comes with 3 40x, 100x and 400x magnification as standard. For transport, e.g. in carry-on baggage, the lighting and the cross table can be removed and mounted in the field without tools. It is therefore ideally suited for biological or medical field research and can always be present while traveling. Due to the inverse design with phase contrast, it is perfect for the examination of plankton or cell cultures. Instead of special plankton chambers, standard slides can be used, making was easy and cost-effective to copy the micros.

The microscope is suitable for numerous application areas, whenever microscopic analysis is required on site:
Plankton studies in water biology
Examination of cell cultures in microbiology and life sciences
Parasitological studies in veterinary medicine, aquariums or fish farming
Control of phytoplankton or live feed, e.g. in aquaculture or marine culture
due to its compact design, the microscope can be held comfortably in your hand. For longer examinations, it is recommended to fix the microscope with the photo stand thread in the base plate on a table stand or with a table clamp.

The LED lighting has a fixed, centered phase contrast device for the 40x lens. With the 4x and 10x lenses, a contrast is achieved, which corresponds approximately to the conventional dark field. 2 batteries of the type alkaline 1.5V Mignon/AA are required for the illumination (batteries not included).

In case of a lack of power supply, the microscope can also be used without the LED lighting. To do this, it is sufficient to dismantle the lighting. Bright daylight can then be used as a light source to microcopy in the normal light field. The expedition microscope is therefore particularly reliable and always ready to use, even without a mains connection.

For the use of an optional MicroCam the 0.5x reduction optics Art. No. 5914005 required.
