A smoke detector saves lives
A fire can start at any time, even if you are asleep. The poisonous gas will make you unconscious and will not wake up. However, if a fire breaks out, it is important to wake it up in good time. A smoke detector warns you in time so that you can react quickly to life-threatening situations. It should be considered that smoke detectors have a maximum life of 10 years. Therefore, always check the date of your smoke detector and buy a new device every 10 years. This is the only way to ensure that your smoke detectors function correctly.

Select the correct smoke detector
All Smartwares smoke detectors are equipped with optical sensors. An optical sensor reacts quickly to a glowing fire, triggers considerably less false alarms and is environmentally friendly. The battery of the RM250 smoke detector has a service life of 1 year and the sensor lasts for a maximum of 10 years. The battery warning will beep when the battery needs to be replaced. The smoke detector has a rest button that can be used to mute a false alarm.

Installation
In order to be reliably warned in the event of a fire, you should install at least one smoke detector on each floor. It is recommended to install the smoke detectors in the places you pass while escaping, e.g. in the lobby or in the staircase. As smoke rises up, the smoke detector must always be mounted on the ceiling, was not a problem with a few screws or a retaining plate. The Smartwares smoke detectors work wirelessly, so that you can mount them anywhere at home. Thanks to the safety pin, you can only install the smoke detector when the battery is inserted.

Maintenance
The readiness of the smoke detector can be removed by dust and dirt. It is therefore important to wipe the smoke detector with a slightly damp cloth once a month and vacuum it twice a year. Do not use any cleaning products and do not paint the smoke detector.

Test smoke detectors
You should check your smoke detector regularly with the test button. The smoke detector should be tested at the moment so that it works really well in case of a fire. If the battery power is low, a short beep will sound to indicate that the battery needs to be replaced.
