Description
The threshold value for the alarm, which is clearly audible as well as visible, was deliberately set to such a high level so that poor ambient air due to exhaled CO2 does not lead to false alarms, but defects in technical systems are detected immediately and safely.
The external sensor with protection class IP54 for spray water is pre-assembled with a 4 meter long 3-core cable. With a 3x 1.5 mm² cable the sensor cable can be extended to up to 100 meters.
In case of an alarm a potential-free changeover relay (230 V~ / 5 A) switches, which can e.g. activate forced ventilation or close magnetic shut-off valves. Another potential-free changeover relay (60 V= / 5 A) switches when the device detects technical faults and informs e.g. the building control systems. In monitoring mode, both relays are activated and fall off in the case of an alarm/fault.
A large illuminated 2 x 16 character display constantly informs about the currently measured CO2-value in percent and about further status messages of the device when browsing through the display with the SERVICE-button. The temperatures inside the device are monitored, the alarms are counted, an error code is displayed in case of technical faults, or the CO2 concentration is recorded in percent in the last alarm.
A special feature of the CO2 detector is that the user can calibrate the sensor to a zero point. Like any other sensor, the sensor is also subjected to a natural drift which makes it more insensitive over time. Especially in applications where the sensor is exposed to a constantly increased CO2 concentration and does not get real fresh air regularly, at least weekly, an auto calibration could display completely incorrect values over time. Therefore, with this type we have turned off the otherwise usual auto-calibration. The spread of the alarm thresholds as defined by the software is thereby completely preserved.
For calibration, the sensor is operated in real fresh air (around 0.04% CO2) for at least 30 minutes and then the Cal. button is pressed. This new sensor no longer needs to be sent to the Elektrotechnik Schabus for zero point calibration. On request, however, we can continue to offer this service as usual.
Application areas
Dry ice storage and processing (vaccination centers, street food trucks, …)
All systems with CO2 from pressure bottles (laboratories, storage, etc.)
And all systems, in which up till now a GX-A1 with GX-CO2-30 sensor was used.
