Description
Circuit breakers with communication and measuring function
The circuit breakers with communication and measurement functions are an essential component of SENTRON digitization solutions.
System availability is increased by reacting to alerts early. The protection functions still offer safe, reliable protection in the final circuit. The communication and measurement functions in turn make it easier to find the causes of malfunctions due to the reporting of the cause of the trigger, while WAS in turn allows conclusions to be drawn about malfunctions of operating devices. A further advantage is the integrated operating hours and activation counters, which contribute to better predictability of maintenance. In addition, the protective switching devices record electrical parameters such as energy, effective power, current, voltage, mains frequency and temperature with measurement and communication function. Thus the transparency is increased and the energy consumption in the final circuits can be broken down. Setting alarm thresholds and measuring differential currents in multiple frequency ranges enables accurate locating of the causes of faults.
Because of their compact design, the Ideal protection relays are suitable for retrofitting or for the new building. The system can be easily commissioned using the SENTRON Powerconfig or SENTRON Powerconfig mobile PC software for mobile devices.
The SENTRON PowerCenter 1000 data transceiver is at the heart of the system of protective switchgear with communication capability. This collects measured values of the coupled protection switching devices and transfers them to higher-level systems. The measured values from up to 24 SENTRON devices with communication capability are transmitted wirelessly to a SENTRON PowerCenter 1000 which stores selected data for up to 30 days. Higher-level systems can access the data via the interfaces of the data transceiver. On-site, either via Bluetooth® or via Ethernet in the local network. A Modbus TCP protocol is used, which can be easily integrated by other systems.
5TY1 COM electronic circuit breakers combine today's well-known protection and comfort functions with each other thanks to their innovative concept. With the exception of the basic functions, the functions can be switched on and off and parameterized actively, so that adaptation to the respective application is possible. These devices are supported in PowerCenter 1000 with firmware version 3.0 or higher.
In addition to the already known measurement functions, the options for changing protected parameters are now added. In other words, depending on the trip cause (e.g. short-circuit / overload) it can now be adjusted individually how the device behaves afterwards. For this, there is a new condition in the device, which is called Standby (STBY). This allows switching using a power conductor between ON (electrical conductor, such as current protective switchgear) and STBY (non-conductive/high-resistance), for example, to switch off unwanted losses of standby consumers, or to be switched again after an overload activation.
In the case of another protected parameter, the sensitivity of the RCD tripping can be changed from standard (22.5 mA) to sensitive (18.0 mA) or also robust (27.0 mA) to suit the particular application.
Furthermore, the device has an integrated self-test, which monitors the device cyclically for anomalies and if necessary switches off the device to obtain a safe condition.
There are versions with different currents, which can also be individually adjusted.
The nominal voltage is 230 VAC, but the unit operates in a range from 85 to 255 V. Moreover, the integrated POP function (Power overvoltage protection) can be activated (default = active) in order to protect the connected devices from overvoltage.
